The weirdest thing you'll ever make

How cool is this? Ok, to you it may look merely like a yummy slice of apple pie but actually there isn't any apple in it! Don't believe me? It's true! This pie is made up of about 80 - 85% Ritz crackers. The coolest part about the whole thing is that it actually tastes like apple pie! No joke! Wanna give it a shot? The recipe is below. Posted by Hello

Ritz Mock Apple Pie
1 9 inch pie crust

Filling:
2 cups water
3/4 cups sugar
2 tsp cream of tartar
30 Ritz Original Crackers
1 tbsp cinnamon
1 tbsp lemon juice

Topping:
1/3 cup melted butter or margarine
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tbsp cinnamon
25 Ritz Original Crackers (finely crushed)
  1. Mix the water, sugar and cream of tartar in a pot and bring to a boil.
  2. Drop the 30 Ritz crackers into the pot being careful not to break them if you can, just poke them down into the water so they soak up all that sugary goodness simmering for about 5 minutes uncovered.
  3. Pour the mixture into your unbaked pie crust.
  4. Sprinkle the lemon juice and cinnamon over the filling in the crust.
  5. In a medium bowl mix the melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon and crushed Ritz crackers together to form a kind of crunchy topping.
  6. Sprinkle the topping over the filling.
  7. Bake at 400F for 15 minutes, then turn the heat down to 350F and continue to bake for another 15 - 20 minutes.

And that's it! If you do try it out, feel free to come back here and post your thoughts on this really cool WWII recipe.

This pie is very very tasty! And it tastes like real apple pie! wth?
