New Toy

While at the grocery store a little while back I saw this awesome Alton Brown style measuring cup; this thing is the ultimate in measuring cups. First of all it has several different measuring increments including mL, cups, pints, etc. and it holds both dry and wet ingredients. But the best feature of all is it's plunger-like construction. Why is this a good thing? Well imagine making peanutbutter cookies, you measure out the peanutbutter into your typical measuring cup and then what do you have to do? Scrape it out with either a spoon or a spatula for which you're sure to leave stuff behind and it's not the easiest thing to do. Or what about honey? Same deal but it can be even worse trying to get the sticky stuff out.

Now, imagine this measuring cup of mine; lower the plunger to the desired level, fill with the ingredient of your choice and then push on the bottom of the plunger to dump the ingredients into the bowl. Because the top of the plunger is flat you can simply scrape the top of it to get the last of the ingredients off.

So gunna get me one of them when i have a kitchen. Maybe I should get mum one for christmas.

Yea, if your Mom likes to cook this would be a great and inexpensive gift to give.
