Change is good! As long as you're not old...

The grocery store that I frequent is currently undergoing some major rennovations which include moving entire aisles of stuff from here to there. I'm not just talking about moving just the stuff, I'm talking about whole aisles being shifted so that the place looks much more spacious. What this means is that every week is a whole new experience at the grocery store; stuff isn't where it used to be. Now for Craig and I this can kind of be fun, like an adventure or something like that sort of like a scavenger hunt if you will, but as for the some of old people... well they're having somewhat of a less pleasant experience.

It was on our trip to the grocery store today that I mentioned that lots of old people hate change, and this especially includes grocery stores. My guess is that they become somewhat accustomed to where the frozen peas are and the various canned soups and that's a comfort to them. So when things are moved around they get a bit irritated.

Coincidently a mere minute or two later an old man comes grumbling very loudly into one of the aisles saying something to the effect of, "Why did they put lightbulbs with the canned corn?!?! They should put everything back to exactly the way it was!!!". Craig and I couldn't help but chuckle about that.

The fact is, that while the grocery store is changing things around the lack of order and logical placement among the aisles is temporary. Once they've got everything shifted around things will be back in a sensible kind of order... at least, I hope so!

Are you claiming that you are not old?

;)

Of course I'm not old.

There have been times when I've needed to buy a few lightbulbs at the exact moment I get a canned-corn craving.

It's not pretty when a staff member tells me I'll have to walk at least 4 aisles to get to the corn.
